Haddon has divided India into 

1. Deccan

2. Hindustan
The Indo-Afghan predominating type. dolichocephalic head; fine, straight or convex, prominent nose; long face; medium to tall stature; dark eyes; light brown complexion and black wavy hair. Jats, the Rajputs.

3. The Himalayas


Assam has been dealt with separately by Haddon. The Assam tribes are mostly Mongoloid. He has included the Khasi, Bodo, Mishmi, Arleng, etc. in his Protomorphus division of the Mesocephalic Asiatic Xanthoderms.
